Faux Leather Simply Sketched

I like doing the faux leather technique, it is a fun look. If you would like to see some of the cards I have done in the past, here is a link.

    • The card base is Crumb Cake CS.
    • I layered Pear Pizzaz CS and then Natural Composition Specialty DSP then wrapped Linen thread around it. I layered this onto the card base.
    • I cut tan fun foam with the Apothecary Accents Framelit,  I heated it with my heat tool until it began to shrink then pressed the stamp (inked with Soft Suede) into it.
    • I layered it onto a Pear Pizzazz piece cut with the same Framelit(fun foam does noticeable shrink) and added it to the card.
    • On a scrap of Crumb Cake CS I stamped a phrase from Teeny Tiny Wishes using Pear Pizzazz ink. I cut it out with a Framelit from the same set I used to cut the image. I sponged it with Crumb Cake ink and popped it up with Dimentionals on the card front.

Tag It

I am running low on birthday card and I loved the lizard ion this stamp.

  • The card base is Whisper White CS layered with Pistachio Pudding CS then Melon Mambo that I ran through the Big Shot with the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder.
  • I used markers to color the stamp and then stamped it onto Whisper White CS I used Chalk Talk Framelits to cut the image out, I also cut a piece of Midnight Muse CS out with the same framelit.
  • I cut the Midnight Muse piece in half then added it to the Whisper White image with Dimensionals. I then added the piece to the card.
Now I just need to get making some more.

Zoo Babies

Zoo Babies is a fun set for "kid" cards!

  • The card base is Whisper White with the front embossed with the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder.
  • On a piece of Whisper White I stamped some of the zoo images so that they were stacked on top of each others. I layered it on Tangerine Tango then Pear Pizzazz.
  • On a scrap of Whisper White I stamped a phrase from A Dozen Thoughts in Pumpkin Pie.
  • I love the new Magnetic Platform I was able to to cut all three pieces of cardstock at once with the Window Frame Collection Framelits and not one of them moved.
  • I layered the phrase in the same order as the image, I attached it behind the image and then added it to the cards front.
If you haven't bought Magnetic Platform you might want to add it to your Wish List. I love how it holds the Framelits so that they don't move. I know that post it notes hold them fairly well but i still had them slip sometimes. I think the new platform will solve that problem.

Have a great day and stamp something!

Best Father

I CASEd this pin on Pinterest
The ribbon is Midnight Muse, Real Red, Crushed Curry and Silver Glitter paper. The ink is White Craft Ink. I used the 1 3/4" and the 2 3/8"  Scallop Circle punches as well as coordinating Circle punches. I cut the ribbon banners. The back ground is Baked Brown Sugar CS ran through the Big Shot in the Houndstooth Embossing Folder.
On this card I ran a piece of Crumb Cake CS through the Big Shot in the Woodgrain Embossing Folder and the lightly sponged Soft Suede Ink over it.

Million & One

I love the script in the new set "Million & One"! I decided to go with classy black and white for this card.

  • The  card base is Whisper White with a layer of Basic Black.
  • I ran a piece of Whisper White through the Big Shot in the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder (I ran a 4 1/4" x 51/5" piece of chip board through the Big shot with the 3" Circle Die to make a mask for my Embossing Folders. I use it in place of the top plate when dry embossing it leave me a sooth area to stamp on).
  • I stamped the thank you phrase from Million & One with Versamark and stamped it on the smooth circle on my card front. I heat embossing it with a mixture of Black Embossing Powder and Dazzling Diamonds.
I hope you like how it turned out as much as I do.

Pure Gumption

I just got my first order from the New Catalog! I also have today off from work so I get some time to play with new things!

Here is the last of the Graduation cards that I made this year,
Here are the directions for the fold.
Grad Cap Card

  • Cut paper 4 1/4" x 9 3/4"
  • Score at 5 1/2"
  • Add Diagonal Plate
  • With short side at the top, score diagonally from the 2 1/8" mark, turn card over and score again from the 2 1/8" mark forming an X over the 5 1/2" scored line.
  • Fold along all scored lines
  • At the top of the card mark the center (2 1/8")
  •  With the paper timer cut from the 2 1/8" mark to the first scored line on both sides forming a point.
For Whisper White lining

·         Cut 4" x 5 1/4"
·         Mark the center at the top of card then mark 2" down the side of the card from that end cut from center mark to each 2" mark forming a point.
·         Layer inside of card.
·         Cut a 2 3/4" square.

Make tassel and add to card, stamp as desired
